Oh boy, today the postman brought me the eagerly awaited parcel from Massive Miniatures. "Bliss" was announced in February as a preorder on the Massive Miniatures website. Sculpted by Alastair Reid, and expertly cast by Broken Toad, it is a flawless figure, and will be a real joy to paint.
"Bliss" comes in a fancy flip top box with magnetic closure, which in itself will find good use as a nice storage solution in the laboratorium. The box includes two stickers, and the usual small card with an artist impression of the figure on one side, and a little background to the figure on the reverse. Protected by pieces of foam, she arrived in tiptop form.
As the pictures show, all pieces are flawlessly cast, with only some small stubs to be removed and a few small mould lines to be cleaned up. The small indents on the chest are not cast defects, but where her fingers rest. The texture of the bust is characteristically smooth and the wings have beautiful texture, which will be fantastic to paint, whether you are blender or a dry brusher.

The wings were the first thing that drew my attention To be honest, the elven figure is pretty standard, nicely sculpted (I like the closed eyes, and the sculpted eye lashes), but nothing 'wow', however, the fantastic texture and shape of the wings make this figure.

I guess that it would be entirely possible, with a little effort, to add some more clothing, if that floats one's boat..
