Hi Pfer's,
Another sculpting project on the bench for Redhackle Miniatures.
This one is a 90mm figure, being sculpted in polymerclay and epoxy putty. I'm approaching this one a little differently this time, sculpting it in almost one piece, then will separate into parts.
Thanks for looking.

Hi Chris

I love the idea for this , great to see more modern colours being shown , it's a ideal subject for the scale your doing but dare I say would make a fine bust as well

Where's the reference from ?

Lovely figure. My favourite scale.
Will the detail on the flag be engraved/embossed or left to the painter?

Cheers Bill

He's looking great, I was hoping he'd be 120mm but he's a cracker. He isn't Black Watch though, he's from the 7/8 Argyll and Sutherland Highlanders, a Territorial Battalion. Late 1980's.
Lovely work.
Scotty.

Sadly, given the lack of response to the first RedHackle Miniatures figure of a Black Watch officer in 120mm I thought I would see if 90mm proved to be more popular!

If this figure sells well there I may be persuaded to release the next in 120mm

Yours aye,

James

Hi Nap,

The primary reference is from a picture hanging in the Argyll & Sutherland Highlanders museum. The gent pictured has kindly given permission for his likeness to be used. Gary is somewhat of an institution within the Argylls.

I was there as a kid on the esplanade at Stirling Castle when 7/8 Argylls got the new Colours he is holding and had the pleasure of serving alongside him many years later.

I am pondering getting a colour party sculpted... but would need this figure to sell significantly more than my first release of the Black Watch Officer... either that or more trips to PNG for work and overtime payments!

Yours aye,

James

Hello everyone and happy new yea. Sorry with the lack of post's, other things took over and the usual shenanigans around the festive season. Managed to get back onto the tools with this one, and got it to a stage ready for the castor who will come up with the 3D printed design of the flag that I will add into the existing sculpture. Stay tuned...
