Hello, here is a new project.
Mike BLANK had made this officer of the 7th regiment of the Kingdom of Naples, the "Royal African", on the basis of a Metal models figure (photo 1).
I asked him, out of politeness, if I could copy it.
This great gentleman answered me positively.
I added the left glove in the right hand, a ring in the left ear (maybe put one in the right ear).
There are still the 2 rows of 6 buttons to be made.
I decided to use a black base to show off the white uniform even more.
Feel free to say me what you think...
    ENJOY !

A good subject choice , challenge to paint white , black and the facing colour !

Nice putty work on the original figure

Like the use of the dark base , nice contrast with the white uniform

    Eric,

I think you are being a bit oversensitive.

At the moment there is not much in your original post to comment on. This does not mean people aren't interested and probably would add comments as the WIP progressed.

    However your choice.

    Bill,
Do you think if I met the 280 people in who saw the post (in "live") no one would comment on the piece?
    You have the answer...
Is not a question to be oversensitive or not...
    ENJOY !

    Hello Eric,
For the white I usually use the following mix : Vallejo white 950 + a little bit of mat earth 983 + a very few amount of neutral grey 992.
    light base + 950.
    Shadow base + 983 + burnt umber 941.

For the yellow I have forgotten the mix, sorry...I'm sure someone, here on PF, will answer :)

I will be happy to see your version then go on Eric !

Very good work so far, I would like to see more progress. I always liked this character, I have an uniform book, since I was child, where it appears as 7th line regiment from Africa, grenadier captain 1812.

    Hello Mahmoud,
    Merci beaucoup.
I'll see about the yellow... I'm thinking of starting with flesh colour and adding yellow and a touch of blue + a touch of black...
    We'll see...
    Thank you Edorta.
    This officier is very nice.
I will talk to my teacher and see with him for colors and start to paint...
    ENJOY !

Looks very good my friend! Still one of my all time favorite uniforms (although I recently have found that the bearskin cap for this grenadier regiment were brown, the sappers however, did have the very attractive white bearskin caps!) Really looking forward seeing the finished figure. Enjoy!

    Hi,
    Thank you Nap and Mike.
I don't know if I have to paint the bearskin cap brown black... I read brown black and sometimes white... even for officers...
    ENJOY !

Don't get deflated by comments or views, I have had the same. I love Napoleonic's but 54s are a bit small for my eye's.
I'm not really good at converting but love painting. Following this and look forward to more

Does anyone know Mike Blank's colour combination for African skin? My French is awful! Is there a copy of this article in English?
