Here are some of my favourites. The attached 95th Rifles figure was the first piece by Bill Horan that I saw - it was in a Military Modelling article. It really inspired me to take up the hobby.

Top right, "Casualty of War" was the first Bill Horan piece I had ever seen in the flesh, in the '90's. I stared at it for at least 30 minutes. I thought, what kind of sorcery is this!?!!?? There are many talented figurists, but Bill is the master!

I understand you so well ...

Wave of Heroes is one of my favourites.......you can see the figures running, it is absolutely amazing......I have seen better painters and better sculptors on specific figures, but Mr Horan is absolutely a master in making its figure become alive.

You are correct. Yes, there are better individual painters. Yes there are better individual sculptors. But no one combines the two and makes them come alive like Bill Horan.

Is it just me? Or does the wounded officer resemble Bill Horan? That's the first thing I thought when I saw this piece in person at the MMSI show last week.

You are right....my thoughts also....remarkable
Regards
Pete

This is a brilliant post. I’d never seen so many of Bill Horan’s pieces in one place before.

The only thing is it makes me wonder why I bother!
