    Hello everyone.
We put these pictures of my latest work which is still missing some adjustments and the banner. (Many thanks to Samurai and Fredericus-Rex of Figurinitaly forum). This is an old piece Elite 54 mm by Mike Blank and, needless to say, is a Swedish flag bearer during the Great Northern War, the early eighteenth century.
    Tips are always accepted!

    Hi!

    Sweet looking figure.

Which Regiment is he supposed to belong to? Kalmars Regemente?
If your interested I might be able to help you with the standard. Also note that during the era most regiments had different colours of their uniform and there was no standardisation but from the colours and the Jacobstadt I guess Kalmars Regemente.

Have the same figure myself and when I eventually get to it I will have him at Poltava Upplands Regemente.

    Cheers

    Absolutely go eith this flag.
If you crack the huge area of red like you did the blue then you have a stunning contrast.
    Great

Very nice! Love to see Swedish history represented here!

The flag you have chosen will make it a figure from the Närke-Värmlands Regiment, more over the Närke-Värmlands three man regiment. Around 1700, the regiment had Gray coats with Blue turnbacks and cuffs, with a yellow/blue lace around the tricorn. Though the battle took place in 1704 so they could possibly have had Blue coats with red turnbacks and cuffs with red socks. You can see the gray uniform on the left side of the picture you posted.

The painting you refer to has a reference to the battle of Jacobstadt naming the fella with the flag as "Fänrik (sgt) Ulfsparre" and he is wearing the same uniform as Mike's figure does. I am not sure why the figure is in a different uniform then the rest, or that is different then is described int he text of the book of which the painting is the cover. Perhaps Janne can shed some more light on this! I do not think that ensigns traditionally dressed any differently then the regular men.

Either way, sorry about the useless ramblings!

    Looking forward to the flag!!
