    Hi all

This is one of the two vignette i just finished for the MFCA show.
This is " The battle of Formigny ". The second last of the hundred years war.
An allied force of Franco-Breton cavalry swept away the English line formed mostly of longbowmen.
All the subject are my original figures.
The standard bearer is carring a "Compagnie d'ordonnance" flag, with the company number (7) on it. The Heraldry on the horse make him belonging to the men of the Count De Clermont .
The "Coustillier " on the right is wearing the Heraldry of the Breton Count de Richemont .

    Hope you like it

    WOW!!!!
I love it! I'd love to see more In Progress or step-by-step pictures of your work. As a very novice sculptor, this is exactly the kind of piece that I can only hope to be able to do.
Seeing work like this only inspires me more to keep learning and practicing.

    Bravo

That is some seriously impressive work Nello, bravo (y) (y)

One thing on the base, shouldn't the stake more correctly be angled towards the riders? I realise it adds a lot of dynamism having it poke out the front.

Brillantly done Nello top notch work. Regarding the stake maybe somebody pushed it out of the way earlier. Perhaps somebody has a photo we could refer to.

Awesome vignette. Beautifully crafted. Great sculpting and painting too. Very nice composition. Superb. Maybe just mane should be flared.

Hallo Einion, the issue has been raised on an Italian forum and the response provided by Nello is that the vignette depicts a specific episode during the battle, when the French cavalry outflanked the English archers and charged and overrun them from the rear.
