Sure, any suggestion is apreciated. I will add some volume to the pockets - You are right - they are so flat and unnatural - especially the right one.
I will make a resin copy of the hat - and then I can try some variations on it...
The thing that bothers me most are those two side belts. They are wider on the shoulder and on the back(and I think I got it right in those regions), but I made them too thin in the front.
The right one will not be visible in the end as it should be covered with rifle belt, but I must fix the left one...

Think you are correct about the belts...would certainly like a copy if you are making them. This is a really great piece of sculpting...and research. How about an Alpini 1916 next:))

Figuring out the method to sculpt the rope:

There seems to be a little too thick!

This rope should be rolled, so I do not think that the whole thing is too thick:

but it is obviously badly sculpted as it looks like single rope...

The principle is quite true, I find only the rope is too thick for a total bust!
To your photo you can see that the single strand is not much thicker than the award cord!

In any case, there will be a new attempt with more careful measurement ;)

Martin can you help me some more ?
Wiky states three versions of the rifle:

    • Gewehr M95 Kaliber 8×50 R
    • Karabiner M95a (Stutzen) Kaliber 8 × 50 R
    • Gewehr und Karabiner M95/30 Kaliber 8 × 56 R (8×56R M30 S)
Do You know which one should I make ? There is a really big difference as for example D30 is much shorter.
Do you have any drawings ? I'll try to make it using stirene profiles and magicsculpt...

So far I have 4 parts, there should be at least two more (rifle and belt):

I added some volume to the right pocket, but I might put some more.
Also repositioned the glasses as the space between left and right part was still to wide...

    Hi Guys ,

Really like the way this is going and a very interesting subject .

Still not 100% convinced with the rope , IMO it needs to be slightly larger as looking at the photos it looks the roughly the same size as the crossbelt ..I am no sculptor for sure but visually it looks a little awkward ....perhaps also some gaps between the strands as well?

That aside I hope this is released soon !!!

    You are 100% right ;)
The rope and the feathers do not look natural to me either, I'll probably do them over.
I'm working slow and making many mistakes, that is one of the reasons why I did rope as a separate part...so I could replace it if it does not turn well...

I was thinking for the feathers to be more curved and less ponty (roaster feathers) something more like this:
