I'm back folks - I decided to attack my painted stash with some brush applied flat coat, they will need a couple of coats to fully go flat.

Never painted military figures in this scale, though plenty of fantasy pieces, they have a charm all of their own. These look good if a little dark.

Looking good, there is something nice about having masses of figures all arrayed out in front of you. If you've ever visited Kulmback and been to the castle there are dioramas depicting battles from history using flats. These use tens of thousands of figures, well the big ones do, would love to see similar with 28mm gaming pieces, thar would be awesome.

Wow, stunning and converting in that scale to boot, I have to stop seeing things like this, I really want to stick to what I'm doing. Too many avenues to go down and nowhere near enough years left on the clock.

Will go back and have a better look, but now it's time to paint.

    Cheers Simon

I have been Flat top coating my figures using my "to go to" acrylic Mig Ammo Lucky Ultra Matt, now when I airbrushed it on (before my airbrush went to other pastures) it went on loverly ultra flat with just the one coat, but as I am now having to brush it on its being a little fussy leaving some shiny patches even after Two coats spaced a day apart - not sure what's going on.
Anyway here are my latest pics -

Nice work on these, I can see it's going to be an interesting finished product with some really great detail.

    Cheers Simon
