Here's my version of Atilla the Hun by Art Girona, started at the painting workshop with Fernando Ruiz, now almost finished in (for me) a record short time of 7 weeks!

Still have some final tweaks to do to and an atmospheric detail to add, but will put it in the display cabinet for the moment.

    Hope you like it.

    Cheers,
    Adrian

@ Rene: Thanks! The tree I picked up while on holiday in Spain. It was one of a bunch and this one fit the scene nicely i thought.

@Lew: Thanks a lot! Glad you like the lichen. i love doing that effect.

@Carl: Thanks, glad you like it1

@Roger: Thank you too. I hope I can keep up this pace. Usually I keep fiddling without really adding to the result. With Fernando's tips this went much smoother than usual.

@Xenofon: thanks, glad you like it!

Great result and glad to hear that the workshop has influenced your painting techniques.

As not many participants have completed the figure, I'm glad to see some are coming along quite nice.
Let's hope that 17 Atilla's are filling the competitiontables in Veldhoven in october

Good work, Adrian. I like the softness of transitions, the colors and the fineness of details. The groundwork is very good too, but I think the areas under the cheeks are too dark. In my opinion breaks the general harmony of the figure.
