Hello everyone. This is my latest figure. It was a joy to build. At first I thought the figure was a little rough, and not casted that well, but it painted up nicely. It was a stock figure (Andrea) and all I added was a scratchbuilt scabbard. I did extra to the base as well as a working light with a switch.

You will notice in the pictures that the lamp looks a little out of scale. I think it was due to my photography. It is correct though. Also all the pictures except the last one were taken as I normally take photos. The last one was put in my Photo Explosion software and I used the spotlight feature as well as changing the brightness level and color.

I hope you all enjoy. All comments good/bad are of course welcome.

Thanks for looking.

A very effective composition Brad, with the lantern light throwing that harsh shadow. Nice painting which adds to the overall effect.

The last picture is really nice, the lantern light and the spotlight feature gives to the composition a very evocative effect.

That's a really nicely painted figure Brad. I really like your blues. Keep it up.

Hi Brad

Very sweet piece, very nicely done, good colouring, good blending and realy cool groundwork, very impressive. Its great how the best figures will always get painted again and again, without any loss of interest from other painters, you just know when you see a figure that its going to be a joy to paint... :)

Realy nicely done

Dave

Nice figure and presentation. Your work is really beautiful This is a figure that i have cleaned some time now and waiting to paint ! I guess i ll start soon !!!

Hello Brad

As Joe Hudson say hat of for this nice painted figure.

Cheers Dick

Fantastic work Brad. I agree with the other comments that the composition really enhances a beautiful paint job you have done.

Comming to Tulsa this year?..........would love to see this in person.

THANK YOU - EVERYONE - for your nice comments. Your looking and comments keeps me inspired as there is no club here, and only one other figure painter I know.

Kisifer, Joe, MAB - Thank you. the blues were not tough on this one, but blue is hard to do for me normally. As i am finding out on a zouve I'm working on.

Dave, Major Goose(Costas?) - Thanks - I know this one had been done numerous times, but the pose was too good to resist.

Dick, Marc, Stephan, Gary - Thank you. Dick, the lamp was done in acrylics, actually the whole thing was done in acrylics. Lamp is lit with a 12 volt bulb powerd by a 9 volt battery. The lamp is lightly glued on so it my be broken off to replace the bulb. For how much it will get turned on, it should last forever, but i made it accessable anyway.

Guy - Thank you too. I am going to try to make it to Tulsa. I would love to show it to you in person. It will be somewhat of a last minute decision depending on my schedule. I went to Boston instead last year. I try to make at least one figure show a year. That is all I have time and money for.
