    And i really wanted him because he was the Marcomanni leader who surrenderd himself to Julius Ceasar.

    Hello Marc,

    This is indeed a nice figure that lies in my field of interest too. One for the list!

    Bare in mind however that he was not a member of the Marcomani (Germanic tribe) but was born as a noble of the Gallic Arvernian tribe who in the course of the uprising in Gallia took the lead of the united tribes there. Indeed he surrendered after the siege of the stronghold at Alesia in 52 vC and was to be executed by the Romans after he was led into a triumph at Rome.

    This figure is based upon the statue created by the French artist J.F. Millet and erected on the battle site near Alesia during emperor Napoleon's III rule.
