That's very well done, Guy.

Can you share your white/dapple mix? I have the 90 mm PM Hussar Trumpeter and that white/dapple mix is intimidating me!

Thanks Keith

I used Floquil flat enamels to paint the horse. I started with a light base coat of "Light Gray"
Blended and shaded with medium gray and white.
added 3 dry-brushings of reefer white.

The legs were given a weathered black wash
and then dry-brushed after drying with white to give the "feathered" look between the black and white colors.

hope this helps

Hi Guy,

I like the way the horse iscoming along well done.

Interesting that you use no oils on the horse.

By the way - which figure is it - the title of the topic says Andrea Arab Cavalryman?? Not sure which one it is.

Thanks for sgaring your photosd with us.

Ciao Franco

Thanks for your encouragement Hardy, Keith and Franco.

The kit is an Andrea "Muslim Horse Archer c1187 "
SM-F20

Hope this helps

Guy,
Your horse looks awesome! The dapple grey is a tough color to make and you have it perfectly. Really nicely done. I can't wait to see how it looks together with the Cavalryman...
You didn't use oils for the horse; wow...excellent effect!

All the best

Patrick

While I continue to work on the horse , I have started painting the rider and the accessories (bow case, quiver, and sword). Not sure about design on tunic yet.

I will post the finished pics as soon as the grass I ordered comes in.

Thanks for the comments Daniel.......I have a problem with this camera taking close-ups of 54mm figures. Here is a couple of closer shots.

And one last one. All that is left is the reins and the groundwork grass.

Guy-

Thanks for posting the close ups. I really like how you do the mounted figures. You have a real affinity for those, I think.

For you close ups, are you using auto focus? I found that if I did not hang a cloth background behind the figure, my camera tended to want to focus on the stuff behind the figure.
