    Hello!

I started painting my casting of the APG's Washington bust earlier this week. Please be kind as I haven't painted since February! Too much sculpting lately! Everything is still in process as you see it. Still working on the hair. I'm going for auburn color with some graying at the temples as was his hair color at the time of the Delaware crossing. I painted the hair gray including all highlights and shadows and have gone back over that with with light glazes or controlled washes of browns and burnt orange to allow some of the gray to show through. The effect is ok, but I'll need to redo some of the gray over the top when done. I may also use some oil paint in there to deepen the effect. Just experimenting with it. Everything so far done with acrylics as usual.

Please be sure to check out the APG site to order this bust and to check out the other cool things available.

    Matt,

Outstandig painting! I am guessing that you are using acryilcs?
Between you and Jay I am keeping mine on the shelf.
Your sculpting and the casting on this figure is as close to perfection as I have seen, including PM figures.

    Thanks, guys!

Rocky - Yes, I use acrylics for most of my painting. Oils come in for special effects mostly. Don't stick the bust on the shelf! Get to painting, man!
