I was just trawling through another forum site I keep an eye on and there was a thread that I thought might make an interesting subject on PF.

Are there any holy grail models that you are looking for?

I want the Foreign Legion set in the Pegaso Elite series 54mm - I missed one on ebay about 18 months ago - I forgot to go back and re bid! Cursing ever since.

Adrian ,

Good question for sure .......

It's obviously busts but these are my Holy Grails....

Legends & Lore confederate guerilla bust and also their Dirty Harry 120 mm kit. Nemrod 120 mm rogers ranger. Reznhedz 120 mm Thor. Soldat 120 mm middle earth ranger and Bobbo the halfling.
Gerald

Sanderson 54mm the little flowers seller
80 mm Sepp Dierich ( Acorn) 80mm Erns Röhm ( G&B)
I painted those once for friends, never found them back

Luckily I found two of my holy grail pieces which were the Hinchcliffe Taisho Samurai...I sold one to a PF member but I'm keeping the other.
I've been lucky enough to find all my other holy grail pieces......doesn't seem to stop me looking though.

Also Nap I've got one of your holy grail pieces(the Figuralia bust) which you are welcome to if I can find it, seems the grey army have closed ranks to protect one of their own.
If I find it soon I'll send you a private message.

Until recently my holy grail was the two S&T "Chosin Few" Korean War U.S. Marines in 1/16. I'd actually held them in my hands at shows in the mid '00s and each time I'd thought "spent too much already, get 'em next time" but of course S&T folded and suddenly there was no "next time". I'd regretted not buying them ever since, and I've seen them go for silly money on feeBay.

Over the summer though a fellow pF-er rode to the rescue and we did a straight trade, with none of that vulgar money stuff changing hands at all. To say I was well chuffed would be the understamenet of the year. There are one or two other OOP figures I wouldn't mind getting my hands on, but these were top of my list by a country mile.

There was one little scene! @ 90mm, that I missed out on 'Sting-Bay', a couple of years back. The most scruffiest, knackered looking 'French Voltiguer', (with a trumpet, plus a setting!) All I can remember it was by a clearly now defunct company called. 'Il Figono',??? (or something similar sounding!) .. It was such a memorable piece, because it was so 'Trampish', .. if that makes sense!

Regards,

Mark.

Great question!
A few spring to mind.

I'd have to say the Elite Miniatures Mongol Archer in 70mm - I'd love that figure.
Just like this one, which i painted some time ago, and was pleased to get a silver award at Euro for him.
I didn't realise they were so hard to get.

I remember one of the first Benassi in 75 mm for Hinchliffe, a Landsknecht kicking a dog ??

I met him a few times and watched him working at his sculpting bench.
There are a lot of his masters out there that never made it to production. There was one I missed of a page carrying his knights jousting armour, would stand up to the competition today.
