    Just painted the eyes...:

It's allways a faszinating moment, when such a bust after setting of the two litte light reflexions points to the eyes begins to "live"...

A look out of the window of ma working station:
My two Rhododendron show what they can. They have not looked so beautiful for a long time!

Before I drive to the next Oldtimer meeting, I used these colors ...

...to underpaint the skin parts of the face of ma cossack...:

Last step of today was the final painting of the face with these oils...:

After an underpainting with black acrylic...

...I just painted the "Beshmet" shirt!

For that I used a "cold" mixture of "black"...:

The blacktones to paint the Cherksska with I mixed roday from these Colors - totally different from the "Beshmet" shirt...:

I think, both blacks are working pretty good toether - only taking ptotos of them is a real horror...!

After I have extensively used the beautiful weather in the past days, today is again painting day.
I have just awarded the Cossack the Order "Red Banner"!
Here again this - at that time - highest Order of the Bolsheviks, as it was lent in 1920 ...:

And this is the size in which he had to be sculpted and painted ...:

Looks quite good, I mean ...:

Today I have painted the "Kapsitulnij" and the "Gazirij" on one side of the breast!
The "Gazririj" sleeves are made of metal, so I have shown them as well.
I have begun with almost Arcyl color ...

... doing some small points on the things. The dots dry a bit plastically and give the impression of engraving, or chiselled silver!
Then I covered the whole thing with a very thin layer "Silver Ink".

Next step were the patron pockets - they are made of silver fabric.
So a background with these colors ...

... and lastly carefully silver Color is brushed thinly.

Thus, the difference between metal silver and fabric silver is beautifully clear!

And finally, I gave our friend a dark red-colored fabric on the cartridge hanger, very dark, so it does not notice too much and the overall picture - where the color black should dominate - dis not disturbed!
This dark red fabric consists of ...:
The overall impression is quite good - I think. It looks decorated, but not too gorgeous ...:

And then there was a joyful surprise!
The postman has brought me a beautiful black wooden base in the house, which a friend from Munich last weekend made for me ...:

In the fundus has found a Soviet star, which is fixed to the front of the base - this fits very well to the bust!

    Today was the saber belt!

First of all, I have underpainted it with these color...:

These colors were used for the final painting of the leather ...:

The buckle and the hardware were shown as "metal / silver", which I did with these colors ...

    And so it has become...:

    @Nap:
I take my pics only with natural light and use no lamps and spots! And outside it is cloudy and a thunderstorm was happening. Thats the reason for the dark photos...

    And a Little Addition:
Just painted the little white reflex points in the eyes a bit smaller - looks quite more realistic I think...:

    Thx Borek!

I have corrected the reflex points again - they were not evenly, which let the guy "squint" a bit.

    Pictures of it tomorrow ...
