I tried making a flat figure again last night while watching TV this time I tried using sculpey instead of magic sculpt, i found it a bit more forgiving when trying to fix mistakes of which I'm making plenty.
I slapped a bit of paint on it today to see what it would look like. Still a lot of painting to be done but I think it's better than my first attempt. I did it freehand again i think I need to slow down and plan the process but my impatience wouldn't allow it. That and I'm not sure how to get the image from paper onto the clay.
Anyway enough rambling, here is the piece.
Critique and comments welcome and thanks for looking.

My mate Ken puts the image behind a piece of glass then sculpts onto that. I know it only gives the proportion, but he swears by it.
