    Hi planeteers,
Here under a new fig finished yesterday. It depict animal mother in the battle of Hué (Vietnam)
The figure comes from Evolution miniature 1/35 scale, the pig M60 from highly detailled Bravo6 and the groundwork and the section of wall with the moon gate are made by myself.
    Painted with acrylics. Enjoy!

    Great stuff, Pascal!

But - why would he be wearing an M9 gas mask bag? Isn't that one strapped to his leg, dangling from the canteen? I didn't go to Vietnam so I don't know if they required soldiers to wear them.

    All the best,
    Dan

Maybe it was just another pouch to carry kit in. The respirator bag was a good size for carrying all sorts of stuff. I like this guy and the groundwork too.

What colors did you use for the uniform, webbing, and flak jacket?

Marines in Vietnam/Hue did have them, and Animal mother is a Marine, not a soldier. The US used lots tear/CS gas in the Vietnam war, as did the North Vietnamese/Viet Cong, including the Battle if Hue (where FMJ took place). Plus tunnel rats would frequently wear them

In another forum a Viet-nam vet explained that they often carried the bag without the mask and filled it with extra ammo.
