Its ready at last..........didn't have time to stop and shoot in-process pics as I'm running LATE for Girona, so the finished pics have to suffice :(

As I said before when I shot the lousy/washed out pics of the face, this is a classic sculpt where it was sculpted by a lady, E.Riquelme :p also the casting was excellent!!!

Any comments, as usual fire on

N.B. Before anyone says that, that French Imperial Blue is too light, I can assure the Napoleonic buffs that it is MUCH DARKER as can be testified by the Maltese Mob over here :D
The lighting set up had that effect I'm afraid :(

    Your work is amazing.
It's seen as very vivid white.
    Your technique is great.
The facial expression is also wonderful.
    A sturdy grenadier sees.

    Ray,
Nice work! This truly is a classic, elegant piece and I think your painting style suits it well. I read on Timelines that you used oils for the shadows on the blue. What technique do you use to achieve the matte finish?

    G'day Ray,

Superb paint job mate. The subtle variations in the white are sublime, and the the face is full of character. I hope he does well in Girona.

Daniel, Tony, and Xenofon, thanks for your compliments.........Xenofon, looking forward to meet in Girona :)

Jason, thanks to you as well........no real technique there.........I just use white spirit to dilute the oils, hence making a controlled glaze and you can never go wrong with that as the white spirit is SURE to dry matte :D
    Hope this helps..........

    Ray ;)
