    Hi Guys

Well I blame Jimbo for this ...why because he is miles away !

I now have a bit of a taste for putty ...only a snack though

Following on from this Garde Suisse thread .....http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/grade-suisse-headwear.81690/

Using the Marine Artillery bust from Ellies Miniatures .....and a heck of a lot pm's to MarquisMini ...cheers Daniel ..............this happened image.jpeg

Jimbo cut the original cap off ( I can't be trusted with sharp whirring things!)

I then made a totally new bicorn and shock..it looked okay !

Added the edging ..both inner and outer , the cockade

    Then reworked the epaulettes

Put new lace on the front and beck

    Added a belt etc

Couple of WIP Ipad pics so not them best !

    image.jpeg
    image.jpeg
    image.jpeg
    image.jpeg
    image.jpeg

Then got hold of a Veteran Scots fellow from Paul Blaber Miniatures

Out came the dremel and took off the cast sash and cross belt and replaced it with a new sash

    Lengthened the moustache

Added new piping on epaulettes and tunic

    Added new buttons

    Put numbers on epaulettes

Put his C/Sgt badge on right arm

Put some tails on the bonnet

    Filled the pipe up !

Added what will be the Indian Mutiny medal ...Ye Hah!!!!!

    image.jpeg
    image.jpeg

    image.jpeg

Then it was on to the Home Guard by Rob Hendon ...put it together cleaned and filled where needed and redid the medal ribbons making them more pronounced

    image.jpeg

Thought I would share this ...doesn't look much but it took over 3 days allowing putty to dry etc and learning and cursing together with a lot of coffee on the way..lol

They all look so much better in reality

The only thing now is which one first !

WIP's will appear when I decide what to paint

Ralph ...believe me so do I wish I could sculpt ! .....think I am not too bad with adding details , the bicorne was certainly a challenge but it's nice when it comes together ....and a learning curve .

Captfue ....appreciate your input and happy you like my work .

    Happy modelling

Kevin I must ring the alarm here.If you keep this up pretty soon you won't be needing Jimbo anymore because this is some very serious sculpting skills I'm witnessing right here.So let me ask,are you ready to put an end on one of PF's most historical artistic "couples"?
PS:I am of course joking but not about the sculpting skills.I think you've got what it takes to try more complicated stuff.Give it a thought.

Fear not Oda ...Jim has a cracking selection of biscuits but our "coupling" ( is that legal!..lol ) will continue till the sun stops setting .

Not so much sculpting skill my friend more luck! ..got a couple of ideas to try out after my beloved acrylics are in action!

Decided which order to do these in....hopefully ! .....Scottish , Home Guard , Garde Suisse , ........or ....oh my goodness life's hard ..lol

    Hi Guys

Keith ..appreciate your post ..glad you like the additions I have another head coming from Psul ...plans afoot or should that be ahead!

    Bob ...I can but hope!

Scotty ....simply by cutting out rolled out squares and tacking with Vaseline then straightening etc with my shapers

The Garde buttons by rolling nearly gone off putty in my warm palm and gently putting into place

It had to be easy for me to do it ...all buttons will have details painted on ....well that's the plan !

    Thanks for looking in

Thanks, I was meaning the round buttons it can't be easy getting them all the same size and roundness. That may not be a real word!

    Hi Nap,
Nice work on the bicorn, definitely looks the part. It'll come up a treat when you slap some paint on it.

Wow Nap, I am so glad you've started doing a bit of sculpting. You certainly have a flair to it. You must be hanging around with Jimbo too much. Your converting looks really great. I am very impressed. I think it's great altering stock busts into something more personal. It's part of the hobby that I really love. You go for it mate.

    Hi John

Good to have you comment , hope all is well and happy 2017 to you both .

Probably right too many Jimbo sessions but they are fun and I get fed..lol

Not do much sculpting more adding my own slant on busts hopefully making them interesting in comparison to tge stock versions .

The only thing I have to do now is decide which to paint !

As you said it's what modelling is all about ..that and enjoyment .

    Thanks for looking in
