Original photos were the basis for both figures:

Pretty Nose was Arapahoe, participated in the Battle of Little Bighorn, and lived to be 101 years old. She was one of the few women who became war chief of her tribe ...:

Geronimo (actually Goyaałé - "The one who yawns") was a well-known leader of the Mescalero-Chiricahua Apaches and one of the last to surrender to the whites. He died as a prisoner of war in Fort Sill in 1909 ...:

Good to see Altores releasing and something different being flat backed with higher relief

These will look good painted up or even " bronzed" up

Hope we might see other subjects and periods perhaps Medieval one Napoleonc

    Thanks for sharing

Excellent likeness in both cases. Looking forward to see these painted up.

Wonderful likenesses of both photographs. A word about Geronimo, the war bonnet and the pic. The pic was taken in 1907 on the reservation. Comanche chief, Quanah Parker, who was organizing the photo shoot of all the chiefs on the reservation wanted each of them to wear a war bonnet. But Apaches didn't wear war bonnets. And Geronimo wasn't a chief. Geronimo didn't have one so Parker lent him one of his. Thus was born the legend of the nonexistent Apache war bonnet.

Today both the Apache and Comanche tribes claim ownership of the bonnet.
