Hello guys, like to show you my latest finished Vietnam dio:

    'All Along The Watchtower'
    Assault on Dong Ba Tower
    Battle of Hué
    Vietnam, 15-17 February 1968

Took a long time to finish this one, now I think I'm done...
Figures are all scratch, painted with acrylics. Scale 1:35.

    Hope you like it.

For some background info please read this interesting article about the fighting in Hué and in particular around the Dong Ba tower. https://newseumed.org/tools/artifact/marines-and-tet-battle-changed-vietnam-war

    In remembrance! Semper Fi!

    Hi Erik

Great to see you posting and what a fine piece of modelling , excellent groundwork with the figures looking just right amongst the rubble

Out of interest how long has this project been going ....the results are worth the time ...we can almost sense the terror of the men

A fine tribute to the marines

    Wow! Fantastic job.
A real epic- I know how difficult it is to sustain the momentum with so many figures, especially when the uniforms are so similar.
And your poses are very natural- be nice to see some more close-up shots.
Not my period of interest but I absolutely love it

Highly unusual to see a Vietnam setting that's not a deep jungle, so full marks for imagination. This is really well executed throughout. Well done. (y)

Thank you guys for the nice replies!! Really appreciated!!

@Nap: This dio took about 2 years to finish. Working on it then and now due to other projects and motivation

Here a couple of pictures from the figures before they were added to the dio, without the dust and dirt...! IMG_20230125_180348.jpg

Yes, they were! Bend and twisted out of fine and flattened copper wire to get that 60's looking glasses... ;-)
