    estupendo, don Alejandro :),
you are an expert on sculpey, super sculpy I presume. What did you paint with and what primer did you use?
let's see what tyour horsed hero will look like, but looks great already. Recently Ann Hyland published a book on the ancient horses, perhaps could help you with some details of this caballo, and his rider...

Thanks for your reply Dario, I´m not older to be "Don" ;)
Abou the clay, yes, is supersculpey, But this model is only like master for metal cast, I will paint a copy, anyway I suppose you can primer it airbrush with, and Humbrol, tamiya etc. with. maybe a companion of planet can say if is this possible... You can see my Bela Lugosi Topic, this was made color supersculpey at all and retouched oils.
About the horse, sorry I dont understend " tyouy horsed" meaning???
And sorry, I dont know what exactly bread can be Alexander horse, this time I´m tryint to represent the Oliver Stone view about it
But I think the greek horses in this epoc could be smaller.
I sow my reference picture .

    Regards

    Alex.

    Hola amigo,
to start with "horsed hero" means - heroe montado, but I made a typo - I should have typed 'your horsed hero'...
Ancient breed used by Alexander might have been a Nisean horse (Bucephalus was probablya Nisean)- comes from Nissa in Asia Minor, then part of the Persian Empire, this horse was the warhorse of the Persian warriors. The Nisean horses were known for speed and stamina and it was the tallest breed in the Ancient world and perhaps related to another ancient and tall horse, the Turkmene horse . The present day Akhal-Teke is the only remaining pure strain of ancient Turkmene horse, a breed whose common ancestors bear a succession of different names over time: Massaget (Scythian), Parthian, Nisean, Persian, Turkmene and Ferghana, that last one was noted for stamina, endurance and the ability to withstand hard conditions in desert lands. Excavations in southern Turkmenistan have uncovered skeletal remains of tall, fine-boned horses dating back to 2400 BC. Common trait of these horses is the roman-nosed profile of the head, long leg bones and in the case of the Nisean horse a very powerful built... Generally speaking, the lands to the north-east and east of Makedon and Greece produced the best horses in the Ancient world, while very fine horses were bred in Thessaly, a little south of Makedon, where many ancient breeds were crossed to develop a Thessalian horse, and Alexander as the supreme king and son of Zeus rode the best stallions, of the Nisean or some other suberb stock. Finally, the ancient Greeks and then Romans seemed to like roman-nosed horses.... so good luck with your horse. http://www.pothos.org/alexander.asp?paraID=121

    hey, English no problem :)
I just liked your figures and your topic: alexander, especially since he will be mounted. I am still learing the sculpting, I use plasteline (non-hardening clay) to train my hand and eye. I have done some figures from Sup.Sculpey, Fimo, Magicsculp and Aves , but nothing that is yet worth this forum..

Dario, all try is special, maybe you should be share your progress in planet...
I think the sculpy is good for start to sculpt, you have not worry for the time during the work.
And I think you should be start biger scales like 120mm.
But the most diffivult on it is start to sculp... and you have done now...
Stand by me anything you need ;)
