Today I received 2 busts from Young Miniatures and will do the May, 2009 Release first for review. Ahn Jun Sik sculpted the bust of Alexander The Great from the movie starring Colin Ferrel. The likeness is brilliant and when you look at the casting there is no doubt who the bust is.

Packaged in Young's Trademark black box with a clear plastic sleeve around it to keep it closed the 5 resin parts above come sandwiched between layers of foam and the small resin parts sealed inside a zip-lock bag to insure against loss. The box art photo is on the top of the box as a painting reference. As many of you know Young Miniature's web-site has six additional photos of the painted box art bust for additional reference.

Above you see several views of the head with the fine detail of the hair and an absolute likeness to the actor portraying Alexander.

In the previous posting and above in this posting you see various views of the chest portion of the bust showing Ahn Jun Sik's attention to detail and the drapery and folds of his robes.

Above you see the head dry-fitted into the neck cavity after removing the casting block with a dremel. There is no filling needed and the fit is perfect.

As with "most" every bust from Young Miniatures the resin plinth v/ support is cast separately.

Conclusion:
This is again another quality product from Young Miniatures. Expertly cast is a light yellowish resin with the only clean-up needed is removal of casting blocks. Dry-fitting of the head to the neck was perfect as we have come to expect from Young Miniatures. Highly recommended.

Excellent review Guy, I received mine yesterday and like you say the quality of the casting and fitting is outstanding. I had all the pieces cleaned up and ready for painting within an hour.
Cheers
