Hey folks I need to accumulate some of these old figure kits for an up coming project
if you have the need to get rid of the odd kit please PM me.
Please be realistic in your offering values I am not interested in any perceived rare collectable value I consider that a nonsense, they are old plastic kits, but have a purpose.

I only need the line infantrymen in shako and the Imperial guardsmen
    Cheers
    Paul

Brian I really appreciate the offer, very kind, you sell it buddy.

To explain; next year I shall be taking as long as it takes to make this scene complete and exactly "as is" in 54mm scale.

I've wanted to do this since I was a kiddie, and if I don't do it now .........

So, I shall need a wall of grenadiers and some line infantry to convert.
If I can start getting them now I'll be ready at the end of the year to begin

    Hi Paul
Unfortunately I have neither of the kit types you're after - I have some of the others but you say you have all you need.
Really amazing project - ambitious doesn't quite describe it. What exactly is the scene - is it Napoleons retreat from Waterloo? And who is the painter?
    Cheers
    Mat

    Hi mat
It's called "The Eve of Waterloo" by Ernest Crofts RA 1879.
It usually hangs to the right of the Archway that shows "When did you last see your Father" and opposite "The Death of Nelson" in the victorian gallery in the Walker Art Gallery. The guardsman in the centre is THE model for the Airfix one, so it makes sense to adapt a few of them into the wall of guardsmen. I'll be using the line infantry to convert all the other foot figures and some of the fallen
    Thanks for looking

Cheers for the info Paul, I had no idea - I must have missed it when I was there a few weeks back, unless it had been moved. I remember seeing the Nelson pictures which are fantastic too.
    Cheers

Yes Mat, it's off the wall at the moment, typical !
I've seen it hanging there for over 40 years, and seen it so many times.
Then I popped in last week myself to check something
in the rfront ight hand corner and as they say in Wales
    "There it was.......Gone".
So I wandered around and took some pictures of the wellington monument outside instead

    A super project Paul.
There are more than a few little groups that would make some great little vignette but the whole painting as a concept is mind blowing.
    Bon Voyage my friend
