Hi to one and all ,
Modellers who like the futuristic subjects continue to be catered for by Nuts Planet in their Trigger series of figures .
So what have I got on my review bench , a survivor of a desolation of the world as we know it patrolling the streets that are littered with debris from destruction of buildings and the previous normal lifestyle .
A time where the only way to survive is to be armed to the teeth with weapons and equipment , very carefully looking round the street corners never knowing whats going to be found ...a marauding gang of aliens or terror gangs.
This is what we have in this release an advance guard gingerly edging up to the corner of a street.
We were notified of the release here : http://www.planetfigure.com/threads/trigger-s-new-release-of-november.81321/
I present to you :
Details of the release
Title: Advance Guard
Reference: T75011
Scale: 75mm(1/24th)
Material: Gray Resin
No of pieces: 16
Sculptor ( Figure ) : Joo Heum Yoon
Sculptor ( Base) : Ki Yeol Yoon
Box Art: Ki Yeol Yoon
As you can see this is number 11 in the scale and adds another very interesting character to the series.
Sculpting is by 2 skilled artists namely Joo Heum Yoon & Ki Yeol Yoon both very talented so it was in anticipation that I opened the box up .
As always the box presentation is the blue cardboard one with the colour box art on the top and various views on the side.
Parts were packed again as with all of Nuts Planet releases in bags where needed and sandwiched between foam layers and pieces of foam due to the groundwork shapes .
Prep is minimal needing only removal of carefully located casting plugs all very easy to deal with .
Parts consist of 8 pieces of the base consisting of the flooring /steps , back wall , aircon unit , 2 parts to a pallet , a piping section, a surveillance camera and fitting bracket and a wire for the electrics.
We then have the main figure , 2 arms , the head the head vision goggles , 2 weapons , a rifle and a dagger.
In this part I will look at the base pieces , as with all the series the base work shows a great deal of thought and this one is no different , we have steps , a louvred piece of walling , a wall mounted figure camera and debris in the shape of a wooden pallet .....
All adding a great opportunity for the painter to really enjoy the sculpting and the pieces.
We are given a lot of high quality cast resin in the box with the base parts being very well formed and all showing excellent details
Lets look at the pieces
The Steps
We have a 3 stepped piece leading to the main flooring , very sharply worked with knocks and damage sculpted to the edges , I have really tried to find blemishes on this but the resin is so smooth its a real pleasure to hold and enjoy .
The side of the steps is angled with 2 locating holes ready to have the back wall fitted ...NO filler is needed ..a perfect fit .
Back Wall
This is perfectly angles at the base to fit to the steps , brickwork details are excellent with pipe work being cast on this is nicely shown and looks good , at the top we have a baseplate to fit the camera to .
The back also consists of a further piece of walling this time with a louvred air vent on it , these are really good and as with the main wall the fit is simple and again no filler will be needed .
The end result is a very impressive base and back walling .
Camera
Consisting of 3 parts .....the actual camera the bracket and the electrics ( the wiring)
All pieces are a good version , fitting of the bracket might be a little fiddly but the end result will be a great piece of interesting base work
Pallet
This is 2 pieces which has good textures and fits together really well , looks good and is another opportunity for the painter to really go to town with weathering ..have a look at the box art for an example.
