Here is the start of a new highlander. It is from Young minatures and really a nice kit. I wanted him to be more of a local versus an officer. Thanks for looking.

Lovely piece so far. One of the many nice things about this piece is that you can make the sett and hose as simple or complex as you want. I have this one in my gray army. Was actually thinking it might be easier to paint the tartan at 90 mm rather than 54mm?

I really like to see how you Tartan will look after it is finished.
Must do something like that within a few figures.

Do you find it easy to paint a tartan? I keep on hesitating to start one.

    Hey guys,

Sorry for the delay but I have finally finished up the highlander. Thanks for the kind words, they helped get me through this guy.

    vergilius,

Not sure if it is easy but I try and I do enjoy them now.

BTW, just saw a mistake that I have taken care of since the pic's, it is white on the tartan by the left arm.

Joe - That's just beautiful! Your tartan is great and the your painting emphasized the well-sculpted facial expression. Excellent!

    All the best,

I like the fine weathering on the kilt and that little skaf on the knee.

Joe, Great paintjob. You have quite the knack for painting tartans. My only negative comment regards the sculpting. What is up with the right hand/forearm?~Gary
