My latest effort is a 54mm vignette from Michael Roberts Ltd.
I’ve always liked this one from the time it was released, and finally got around to buying the kit.
It’s a bit fiddly to put together, but well worth the effort, given the quality of the sculpting by Alan Ball.
Painting was a mix of enamels, acrylics and some oils over both.
The water is "Realistic Water" by Woodland Scenics.

Many thanks to you all for looking and for your kind comments.

    Zeno, Ulrich,

If you get around to working on your kits, I’d recommend Marion Ball’s article on her painting of the Indians:-
    http://www.mb-miniatures.com/media/artikel_pdf/Matter_of_Time_EN.pdf
In her article she says that she used ‘ … the thick white “Water Effects” from Woodland Scenics.’
I tried this material (W.S. ref. C1212) on some scrap, but found I had considerable difficulty moving it around tight spaces, and in getting it level. It also failed to set clear throughout. Perhaps I did something wrong, or the material was off … probably the former.
I then got hold of W.S. ref C1211 ‘Realistic Water’ and applied that with a pipette, using a cocktail stick to tease it into crevices.
It is fluid and the base must therefore be on a level surface.
I’d suggest having some trial runs with the pipette until you’re happy with how you deal with the potential for inadvertent drips. A sharp cocktail stick will deal with any errant bubbles.
I was a bit wary of pouring too much, and it therefore took three separate applications (over 3 days) before I was happy with the depth. Each layer set crystal-clear.

    Cheers,
    Andrew

The woodland scenics if it is to thick dries on the outside before the inside dries and hence the still liquid white glue? So thin is good and it dries very slowly.

Thank you for the clarification John.
Good job I was only testing it, rather than applying it to the model.

    Glad you liked them Kev.
Not too many legs on this one.
My maximum so far is eight pairs on one base; but that pales into insignificance with the 'Roll Call' set.

    Cheers,
    Andrew
