A Fixture
Had a really good time at Figure World today. A huge thanks to the people who organise and put on this friendly and social event.
A real pleasure to meet with Kev (Nap), Robert Lane ((Elan13 miniatures) Martyn (MDP) and Jon (Sphere Products) again.
New faces, to me, I had the pleasure of meeting and having a bit of chat, Malcolm C, Paul (PeeDee), Brian Smith ( sorry we didn't get to chat more before I left Brian), Ian (elliesminiatures), Red Tom and the chimp himself Richie. Apologies to anyone I missed.
There were certain things I wanted to buy at the show, tools and other bits. These were a couple of stands from Jon at Sphere, the aircraft stand which is a very adaptable figure painting tool plus a couple of spare pin vices and a 'glue and pin' stand which makes a great holder for the pin vices as well as superglue, brass rod for pinning etc to help organise my workspace. From Martyn at MDP I got a couple of superglues, two drill and pin sets and some Testors Dull Coat.
Figure wise, I wasn't sure what I wanted but I did want to have a look at the wonderful set piece 'Steady Lad' by Richie in the flesh. It does look great in the pictures on here but having seen it for real, I had to have one!
From Jon, I picked up a Hawk Miniatures 75mm Grenadier Guard Waterloo private standing. I hope I get on with this scale as I would like to do the set that Hawk does with this figure as a small diorama.
Despite my protestation that I can't paint flags, Ian at Ellie's Miniatures 'forced' me to buy the wonderful 75mm figure, 'Old Guard at Bay'
From Rob at Elan13 I picked up one I have wanted for a while, the stunning 1/12 scale bust 'Can you hear me Mother'.
So, a very enjoyable day and thanks to everyone for their generous comments on my little display of figures. As usual, the tables were full of amazing figures painted by very talented people. Plenty of variety and genres to suit anyone. A final thanks to everyone involved and I will leave you with a picture of my 'booty'
