A furry what ?

    This is really for any ex-pat Cornishmen out there. I hope everyone else will allow
    this indulgence...........

    Something called 'The Furry Dance' takes place every year on 8 May (the Feast
    of St. Michael) in Helston, Cornwall. It's called Flora Day, and is a celebration of the
    passing of winter and the arrival of spring - it's one of the oldest British customs still
    practised today. Several dances are made round the town throughout the day with
    the same tune played over and over by the local band. The men wear top hats and
    tails while the ladies dance in their finest frocks. This year with the lockdown and
    everything things have taken a slightly different turn.....

    Interesting , lots of strange traditions in Devon as well like putting cream on a scone first then jam !!

    I am sure you and yours look great in the best togs ...social distancing of course while dancing !
