Fantastic. The build was incredible and I'm looking forward to seeing the painting progress with the vivid colours of this unit's uniforms. Thanks for the inspiration to improve!

    Cheers

Outstanding sbs conversion. You are correct by the way, about the longer pelisse for the period. The pelisse was of the length of the ancient regime and republican periods. Well done. Where does one get the Extratech rivet heads?

Thanks. Got the PE plate from local modelling dealer, but for the pelisse I used 0.5mm rivets home made ouf of lead foil.

How have I managed to miss this? I must have been in a cave or something.

Outstanding in every way. Planning, execution.... the lot. A nice tip about those buttons, too.

    Hi there!

Long time no post, this time without SLR, sorry.
As you can see, I have completely changed my mind about the horse colour, and technique too.

Yes, hair by hair. Same number as on a real horse, will you believe it? ;)
There are not many ways to get a convincing dappled grey, IMO.

    LOL
How many times did you have to restart your count because the horse would move? They don't like having their hairs counted. The balding ones get all sensitve and self concious... silly really

This looks real! Will you post more pictures please. I would love to see more of this. Also some showing how you did the brown to grey transformation would be educational.

    Cheers

Impressive technique - but I feel it would drive insane just attempting it :wacky: Lovely feel about this build - expertly handled throughout.

Brilliant painting on the horse. The coat looks dappled and each hair shows up.

The key to successful dappling on horses to to keep the spots random and not keep repeating them - you've cetainly managed that Paul. Excellent work mate
