    Hi

Seem to be into sculpting all of a sudden!

still a WIP - started off as a practice but want to turn him into something....
Still areas to be carved away, added, cleaned etc........

    Comments welcomed!!

Also - what could he become?

Ain't it funny how that happens?

Proportion and anatomy seem good, I know it's early stages but watch the length of the jawline and I'd pare down the top of the cranium a tad.

The face looks a little like one of the batch I'm working on at the moment actually! Two things I might suggest, first is a bit more definition on the upper eyelids - they're very important for 'expression' around the eyes - because he has a shelving brow you'll probably want to just suggest the eyelid itself at the outside corners but it depends a bit on what age you want him to be, the younger he is the less fleshy he's likely to be around the eyes. Second thing is the upper lip, just a bit more of the actual lip tissue perhaps? This would have the added benefit of closing the mouth somewhat, making for a very natural 'just open' mouth.

Looks like we have ANOTHER 'difficult' character in the making! ;)

Great to see that the expression is already well set at this early stage. Like Einion, I find nothing to say about the proportions.

Adding the ears ( at least the shape) at this stage would give you a clearer picture of the sculpt and would be a great help to define what's right and what's wrong.

    Cheers guys......

Einion; thanks for those comments - well spotted on the upper eyelids. for a while I thought I wouldn't do them, but as you noticed.........
Will also do some further lip work.

Robin; cheers.......will try to do some more tonight - will do the old MS in the freezer trick

Quang; yep - this seems to be my default face! He is quite similar to the smale scale one I did; keep intending to sculpt a face from a reference (I'll save that for my Galadriel - more on that later........). I will endeavour to pace some ears........

    now where's Gordy's article

I tip my hat to all you sculptors of the Planet, what a wonderful gift you have; to be able to create something out of putty is fantastic. ;)

    Cheers

    Roc :)
