79th New York (The Highlanders)

    Hi All,
    Since I,m new here I thought you might like to see some of my stuff, this is a bust I made a while ago, some of you may have seen it before. It,s a Sergeant of the 79th New York c1861 from sculpy the body is resin with sculpy details.It is painted in oils over Plaka .
    Here some in progress shots and some of the painted bust. Comments are welcome.

    What is the crackled stuff in the first photo? Is it Sculpey?

    Hi Barry,
    the crackled stuff is the resin body before a thin layer of Sculpy was applied and the details sculpted it cracks from the heat in the oven when baking the Sculpy

    Thanks for the compliment, This Regiment was in the Union Army during the Civil War it was formed by Scotsmen living in New York
