Hi guys,This is my 65th Regiment figure of the New Zealand Wars of the 1860s.I sculpted the figure from magic sculpt and duro epoxy putties and used sheet lead for the straps.I made RTV moulds of the water bottle , cartridge box and bayonet frog and cast them in resin so I could use them on future figures and save time. The only commercial part I used was the rifle which is from Shenandoah miniatures.I have started the ground work but still have quite a bit of work to do on this. The figure is posed breaking thru a Maori Pa and is just roughly posed at present.I decided to cover the forage cap with a cloth cover which was worn in the summer and similar to that worn in India.Still got a couple bits to sculpt on the figure ,fingers etc.Regards John ;)

John, Very nice job on the figure. the Shenandoah parts are really good for this scale. Making your own parts only broadens the subject matter you can built.~Gary

John - Great figure and groundwork! Very nice indeed. All of your NZ figures have been interesting so far. Could you give a precis of the NZ wars, because, forgive us ignorant midwest US types, I haven't even the most fragmentary grasp of NZ history?

    all the best,
    Dan
