It has been a long time since I have posted anything of my later original works here. As some of you know I have moved and have changed careers. Things are finally getting to be 'normal' again, which means I have been able to sculpt and paint again.

This is the first of several figures I have completed since moving. It is of a 5th NY Zouave. The inspiration for this figure was to sculpt the baggy trousers, something which I had never done before. The figure is sculpted with Milliput Yellow/Gray kind. I quite like this putty and have sculpted several figures in it as of late. I am not sure if it is the preferred putty or not, but I know I like it. It is always fun and refreshing to try something new, try some new material or try something that you haven't done before. Another first for me with this figure was that the face was painted entirely in Humbrol Enamels. Something which I have not used since I was a kid back in Sweden. I really like some parts of the Humbrols and may very well experiment more with this medium.

Anyhow...too much talking. The figure as stated was sculpted with Milliput yellow/gray, head from Hornet, other bits are from the spares box.

The above was the initial pose, I decided to change the right arm which is shown below.

And here is the finished piece. The figure was painted with Vallejo, Andrea and Reaper acrylics as well as Humbrol Enamels for the face.

    Hi Andes.
Love the way the jacket lifts away from the body with the raised arm. Very natural.
