Well..i started to paint the flag today,as i was painting the flag i realize it lacked more creases and the paint did not come along as i wished to be,on top of that, it just felt like i was wasting my time.
So i went to home depot and got a little bit of cooper foil and cut it the square and shape it the waves on the flag.
Already primed and waiting to be painted.
Last night i went to a friend's get together and someone was going to dispose of the metal seal that was on a savory Argentinian Malbec wine, I remember someone mention that wine bottles and other spirits the have lead foil , so i took it.
And i saw a chance to put it to use today for the cross.
It works pretty good i may say.

Rippling of the fabric looks very realistic... Not at all stiff. Nice job.

The two whites turned out nicely as well

You are tackling a very tricky project indeed. One that I have yet to figure out the best approach. Bon chance!

I free handed the lines on each four squares of the flag.
Rather than using straight black i decided to use german camo black/brown from vallejo.
At first i was sweating bullets, but by the 4th square i was on a safe mode.

I couldn't wait and decided to try the motto and Fleur de Lys by using a sharpie marker.
i have practice a little before i went onto the flag.
i will see if i get a gold marker or just use the brush and try it.

    hi MarquisMini

good job but the pole isn't too long? any documents I checked show it shorter, below you can find a sketch from Rigo that shows the proportion between man and flags in 1734 and 1781 ( your period) Presentation1.jpg

Awesome reference Ivo,that is something that i was concerned on saturday when i switched the flag.
Fortunately for me, i cut it just a little and when i was cleaning the flag prior to use the primer,i discover that it could be slide in or out trought the root of the flag since it is an empty.hole.
So , your reference comes really handy for when i finish the flag and measure the final height.
Thanks a lot for the image, really save me a headache.
    Best regards

Finished the motto and fleur de lys.
It was easier than i thought, i was planning ten thousand ways today whe at work on how i was going to do it.
For the letters and fleur i've used vallejo gold, plus a little bit of metal medium, dab of yellow and english uniform.
Next step is the pole and finials.

Does this mean that all of your photographs will be upside down from now onward?:ROFLMAO:
I am pleased that you stuck with making this flag yourself Daniel, it is looking exceptionally good.
    Great work my friend.
