    Thanks Kev,
Yes, i find that for yellow as a base, any brown or violet works fine.

If you want to take a pass on painting the color/standard Daniel, you may want to try one of my friend John Sanheim's printed flags. They are perfect and he does produce many of the ancien regime standards. Not all of us are Ivo Preda......... Happy painting!

Thank you so much for the info Jaybo, yes Ivo's skill for detail is unmatcht.
I like to challenge myself and see how far i could go on painting these flags and at the same time save some bucks, the holidays got me broke hahaha.
But i would like to have the contact info for John.
Could you please PM me with that?
    Thanks my friend

Start it to work on the vest and pants.
As a base color i am using vallejo deck tan and a dab of german grey.
Adding vallejo stone grey for light and will add white for final lights... 20180104_085621.jpg

I have fnished the vest and pants.
Layed the base color for the gaiters using light grey ( vallejo).
I replaced the pompon for a slight bigger size using brown stuff, then added the details .
I've finished the tails and painted the Fleur-de-Lys on them.
I added the hand i've cutted from a spare arm i had and added the ruffle cuff. 20180104_201017.jpg 20180104_201031.jpg

I've finished the powdered wig, added the herringbone lace on the cuffs, finished the sword with the scabbard and sword knot.
French officers wore a mixture between gold and scarlet lace for their sword knots. 20180106_080653.jpg 20180106_080606.jpg 20180106_080632.jpg

    Hi Daniel

I think I might push the highs slightly a little more on the cuffs ?

Flag...slow and painstaking work ...but worth it

    Thanks for sharing
