    I don't know what it is but the photography seems to soften a lot of the detail on the painting. I'll have to experiment.

    I've put an old Napoleonic on of Lord Uxbridge..................long since sold to a collector in the USA.

    I used a book showing a dark blue. When I get back home I'll send the name of the book and author. All other dragoon paintings I have seen are of a dark blue
