4th ID, 325th MG Bn, Co A, Private's Uniform and Kit

    4th ID, 325th MG Bn, Co A and, later, 11 MG Bn, Co B

    Two M1918 US made field service tunics - very different shades of khaki
    Collar = 40 mm in height from shoulder to top

    Tunic is 670 mm down center of back without the collar

    710 mm in height total

    Epaulette = 120 mm in length from seam near button to seam near shoulder

    M1912 Montana hat, Size 7

    Brim is 75 mm all around, ribbon of hat band is 20 mm in height, cord goes around hat band twice

    The crown is 135mm in height above the flat brim. They kept the brim flat by soaking it periodically in sugar water.

    Cords = light blue for infantry; yellow for cavalry; red for artillery

    Trousers = 1040 mm in length down outside seam

    Bayonet is 550 mm in length, in scabbard a total of 570 mm in length. The scabbard is 30 mm wide. Not shown. Shovel is 570 mm in length, spade is 180mm wide by 210mm long and T handle is 120mm long. Not shown. Entire pack is 620mm in length and 210 mm in width around the roll, 240 mm in width at the spade. Not shown. Field equipment posted elsewhere.
