Hello folks,
I had these front rank figure i bought few months back, it is a mounted American officer wich i cut his riding legs i don't remeber why and was staring at me in hope i wouldn't forget about him.
So i decide it to put him to some use.
I cutted the leng on the lapels, shaved the turndown collar and added the stand up one, reshapen the edges of the top lapels.
The legs are from a 40mm figure from Trident, so i glued the top and bottom together , added some putty and modified the turnbacks, added the lower part of the vest and built the carry on map bag.
I still need to add the double vertical pockets which will cover most of the imperfections on the back.
The topographical ingeneers were a separate entity from the Army and their job was to survey the terrain and make maps.
Their uniform was a very distintive , dark blue coat with Aurore (orange-yellow) collar, lapels and cuffs with silver buttons and lace.
The breeches , waist coat and turnbacks were white .
Cheers

Hello folks
finally some progress on this chap.
For the dark blue coat i've use a mix of dark prussian blue, dab of vallejo navy blue and a dab of Andrea dark blue.
As for the silver lace, i've mixed vallejo silver grey and a dab of silver.

Finished the hat and lapels.
For the Aurore facings i've used jo sonja's Aurore with a dab of basic red to start a mid tone, progressively added aurore till last light in pure aurore.
Added some yellow ink to blend and make the color a little alive since jo sonja's aceylics dey up very matt.
