WIP 40mm Corps Royal du Genié, Yorktown 1781

Hello Planeteers,
New conversion on my bench.
I had this spar efigure from Trident Designs, a prussian officer which i am converting to a senior staff officer of the corps of Engineers.
I clipped the head off and replaced by one of the french fusiliers in tricorne hat.
I've got rid of the hand with gloves on the left, sand it the cuffs a little and got rid of the long lapels which i will build the french style lapels and stand up collar.
I will have to build his vest as well sinc ei've got rid of the sash on his waist.
Their uniform was , in my opinion , one of the most elegant among the frenchies.
A dark blue coat, black lapels, cuffs and stand up collar all piped in red.
Scarlet vest and breeches with scarlet turnback and gold buttons.
They also wore gold lace on their hats .

Hello folks, finished the lapels, buttons , collar, cravat, vest , cuff and back of the powdred wig, missing the bow only and it will go to prime and paint.
All was done with brownstuff, the fringed epaulettes , hair and cuff with greenstuff.

Made some progress today.
Lapels and cuffs are done.
I layed the base color for the coat using scale 75 dark blue, wash it with black (reaper)
Basecolor on the hat i've used GW charadon granite and german grey.
As for the red, i have used gory red from vallejo game color which is one of my favorite base colors for red at the moment.

Yet again a real lovely figure is developing ..keep painting

PS ..As a diversion reckon you should paint up a little scene with a Celtic chariot ..go on you know you want to..lol
