Here is a 30mm piece I pulled out of the collection as a little weekend project. There's still some work to go on the shade/ highlights, then a final tidy up and paint the base.

Steve, Rich, thanks both very much. I'm feeling a bit medieval so there might be some more similar coming up.

Excellent Roger! How do you get such a 3D look out of a flat?

    All the best,

    Thanks very much Dan.
It's really just a case of exaggerating the lights and shadows, I must admit painting flats has made me much more observant of the way light plays on things round about me.

    Thank you Mark.
I'm assuming it is around the time of the Battle of Mohacs in 1526, I didn't do much research as it was plucked out of the stash on a whim because I fancied painting it. :D

    Very nice piece Roger.
Super brushwork on yet another eye testing 30mm figure.
I take the horses that you paint as a given to be class work, but that skewed red and white dicing is incredible.
    Well done Mate.
    Cheers,
    Keith

Thanks very much Keith. The dicing on the shield is actually engraved so just a case of filling in the gaps with a steady hand.

Those volumes cannot be painted on a flat, could you give us a front view and stop cheating on us?:sneaky:
