OK, finally done this one after over two months.
This is a 75mm Pegaso figure representing a lancer of the 2nd (Dutch) Regiment of Lancers of the Imperial Guard, commonly known as the Red Lancers. It was painted entirely with Vallejo acrylics and is mounted on a homemade oak base.
I finished late Friday night and entered it in the figure competition at the Guelph Model Show on Saturday... My first ever real competitive entry. I was very honoured to have been awarded a Gold Medal for this piece.
Thanks for having a look... all comments and critiques are always welcome.

Cheers
Colin
PS- As always, please excuse the photography:oops:

Thanks Jason
The camera I use is a pretty crappy snapshot type without alot of bells and whistles. I haven't had it long so I'm just figuring it out. I think my cellphone takes better pics:D

Thanks again
Colin

I can see improvement in your work sir. This is not an easy piece to build and paint so I commend you for your well done effort.

I had the privilege to admire this beautiful executed figurine at the Guelph show, last Saturday. A very well deserved Gold Medal. Congratulations, again Colin! Keep up the good work and hope to see you at many other shows. It was very nice to meet you.
Cheers,
Zeno

Thank you so much Mike and Zeno,
You're right Mike, the assembly of this one was more challenging than the painting, I nearly packed it in more than once... especially when it came to the horse's tack... just a nightmare!
Zeno, I must congratulate you as well for your multiple awards at that show, you brought some fantastic pieces to share, well done!!(y)
Thank you both for your kind comments

Colin

Hi Colin, congratulations on the medal. As Mike says this is a tricky paint, and you have done an outstanding job on it.

I'm staggered at how your painting has progressed since you joined pF. In particular your groundwork has come on in leaps and bounds, and your choice of base and plaque for this piece are spot on. They set the figure off beautifully.

Holy crow, this is just awesome, my friend!!! The reins work is terrific; don't think I'd want to tackle that!
Congrats on your win. Sorry I missed you guys at the show (but the Jeep is fixed:) now).

Great work man! Now I just sound like an echo, but leaps and bounds from the first figure you posted! Sorry I wasn't able to catch it at the show!

Congratulations again!!!!! It's great...the figure, the wood base and the ground work...really, you deserve it!!
I feel that the cavalry dioram will have a similar end ;)

Military miniatures painted by Eduardo Garcia

:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: Sorry Eduardo, but it was really late and I had nothing else at hand:ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

Seriously, thank you everyone for the most kind comments, I didn't think I was ever going to finish this one. A huge credit goes to all the Planet members who made some very helpful comments and suggestions on earlier posts of this piece as a WIP, every little bit of advice helps and no one can learn alone. I feel I've learned more in the past 5 months here with your help than I did in the years I spent painting in isolation.

Thanks again all

Colin
