    Hello folks,
Back to the task after a short break.
I jad to make some correction on the accoutrements for these chaps, the x-belts were buff, not that leather color, so i have paint them usin vallejo buff with a dab of english uniform.
The giberné was right, red russian leather which i have used red leather as a base and few washes of citadel carrobourg crimson.
I have painted the brim for the tricorne hats using a mix of silver grey and Army painter chainmail silver , that way it wouldn't be too silver , troopers for this regiment had a false silver lace on their hats consisting of a mix of silk and silver, officers would have had pure silver lace.
And finally started to "whittening" the coat on the first line of troopers. 20170222_230637.jpg 20170222_230643.jpg 20170222_234902.jpg

Beutiful work as always. The detailed description of even the slightest uniform details (you seem to know the material they were constructed from) is very fascinating to me.This level of historical knowledge constitutes one of the most entertaining and rewarding parts of our hobby at least in my eyes.Your posts are always of extreme interest.

Lovely work Daniel this is going to make a super scene.
I always use Vallejo Silver grey instead of white, it's a superb colour.
It was designed for painting german ww2 collar insignia I believe.

Thanks Oda, i do have lots of references, mainly books ffom Osprey which i find really good as a source for info, but i research online as well.
That makes this a very interesting part of modeling miniatures.
Not so fun when i have to go and correct something i was happy with but is the right thing to do and i wouldn't be happy if i know it is not historically accurate.
Best regards and always an honor having you on my threads.

Finished the coats, , troussers and gaiters.
I re-worked the brim of the hats by added a little bit of silver grey to resemble a more silky mix of silver and silk lace.
I red on a couple references lst night the the French Army at the time wore either white or black cockades on their hats, predominantly bkack until the official color stipulated "white" after the seven years war and became the symbol or color of the Bourbon Kings of France,so, i will have to fix the white cockades on the drummer, officer and sergeant :-( 20170223_224900.jpg 20170223_224907.jpg

    Thanks Kev!.
I was quick to assume that cockades were white all the time, but i am happy to learn from mistakes.

Thanks Borek, these chaps will be just for display .
It will be about 20 figs or so.
Not planning a really big diorama like Yorktown but display various line regiments and the Maison Du Roi cavalry .
    Thanks for looking.

Even so, it's pretty large for me:ROFLMAO: . This scale is perfect for rendition of large scenes. I am very curious about the result. Good luck and great fun while working on this one(y).

    Cheers Borek

Yes, it is a perfect scale for that, i really like the variaty of figures you have in 28mm, i wish it was the same for 40mm.
    Cheers
