2014 APG SHOW

    Hi Guys and Gals,

    The 2014 APG Show is shaping up nicely, we should be posting a bit more frequently, as the countdown continues.
    This year's Show will be held on August 15 - 17th at the Fredericksburg Hospitality House in Fredericksburg, Virginia. Show attendees will receive a special show rate of $89 per night - single occupancy.( Note that these rates are also applicable for 3 days prior to, and after the show). However, the cut-off date for getting this rate is July 30th, 2014. After that, the rooms AND rates may not be available, so let's get those reservations made.
    The festivities will kick off with an acrylic Painting Workshop led by Doug Cohen on Thursday, the 14th. All slots for this workshop are filled, but if anything should become available, we will send out notifications ASAP.
    Friday, the 15th, will feature battlefield tours of Spotsylvania and the Wilderness. Our tours are a big favorite with many of our attendees and we hope that this year's will not be an exception. Seats are limited, so make your reservations now.
    The Miniature Show opens at 7:00 PM on the 15th and will continue until 9:00PM. Saturday will be a full day with things kicking off at 8:00 AM and continuing until 5:00PM. At 2:00 PM on Saturday, the APG Auction will be held in the Patrick Henry Ballroom, adjacent to the show areas. (Check out the APG web site for pics of some of the marvelous pieces available at the auction) Saturday evening, we will feature a guest speaker on various aspects of the "Overland Campaign".

    Sunday morning at 9:00 the Show will crank up again, with awards to be presented beginning at 11:00. Following the closing of the show, we will feature a tour of Kelly's Ford/Brandy Station site.
    The Miniature Show registration will be $20, with no limit to the number of figures or models you display. Jr. Registration (12 and under) is $5 . General Admission is $10/person with juniors free when accompanies by an adult.
    Displays will be divided in the following categories/divisions;
    FIGURES - Historical Painters, Historical Open, Non-Historical Painters, Non-Historical Open. Basic and Junior Categories (will be categories unto themselves with no divisions)
    ORDNANCE - Models of all categories will be displayed together in this category. Juniors will display with other juniors, with same for basic.
    Judging will be done using the "Open System", with no limit as to the number of awards presented (Gold, Silver, Bronze, Certificate) However, please note that an individual may only eligible to win one award in each category. In addition, there will be several "Specialty Awards" sponsored and presented by individuals and groups. We will post these as they become identified.
