    Hi Matt

    Catching up on threads ...

WOW!!! There's a lot of bits on the bike ...all credit to you working with a older kit with its issues ...but what a fine result on the bike you've achieved

    Nice work on the lettering

Bet your glad you've come to the figure now ..lol

Look forward to seeing more on this

Why not put something into FOTM as well as voting in previous months

    Thanks for sharing

    Happy benchtime

Did a first pass on the face last week, and worked on the base today. Heading back to the palette to clean up the eyes and deepen the skin tones. C621AE0F-E297-484C-9484-C0B103EB8B46.jpeg 82F11AAE-4E25-4844-A3E5-54BB0ED77075.jpeg

All looking great, what a serious face he has, whats the plan for attaching MP to bike and then both to base?
I am hoping that my MP will arrive this week so that I can get my hands on it.

I’m going to pin through the tires where they hit the pavement and pin his foot to the base as well. A dab of glue on the seat ought to unify the whole thing. It naturally balances well, and if you hold his boot down the whole thing feel quite stable.

Hi Matt I was thinking along those lines myself, did you put any putty inside the tyres to give you a solid surface to take the pins, Figure just arrived, he's some size lol.

They are solid rubber, so they will squeeze up against the pins.

Good job, I hadn't checked the Harley kit apart from making sure that it was all there and I just bought the ESCI BMW Solo and it has hollow tyres, so solid tyres on the Harley is good news.

Another pass over the face. The oils are still wet, so there is glare. Maybe another pass will do it. I tried a five o’clock shadow, but it looked crappy on this fair skin, so let’s assume he just shaved.

That flesh is coming together nicely and very clean shaven

Just out of curiosity what's that under his epaulette ....motorcycle glove ?

    Thanks for updates

Thanks Nap. I may try the stubble again, but it just wasn't working. In the photo on which this is based, the MPs have their white gloves under the epaulettes, though Jeff sculpted them a bit more like work gloves. One is sliding out a bit beneath the other.

Slowly moving along... Oils are still shiny, they’ll get a spray of dullcote eventually. Some shadows will need to be deepened, and highlights brought up. The entire uniform may need to be shaded a bit more brown, which would call for a filter coat. I think I’m going to take a break from the figure and go back to the base for a bit.

Work-in-progress... I can never resist assembling and then unassembling vignettes or dioramas in progress so I can visualize the final look. The signs are just paper placeholders for composition purposes. The base is pretty close to done, as is the bike. The figure needs a few more days work, and I haven’t even started the signs yet.
