The brother-in law of my Coldstream Ensign (https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/200mm-ensign-for-the-colour-coldstream-guards-2016.115742/) is an officer in the Royal Lancers, so I have now done him in a similar pose. He is wearing the Afghanistan and Diamond Jubilee medals. I am aware that the subject matter and scale are not overly popular, but he might make a colourful bust (https://www.rorylewis.studio/blog/the-royal-lancers-portraits). Hopefully Gordon Mitchell will try and fit this in his overflowing schedule!

Happy modelling - just about the only thing that keeps some of us sane at the moment!

The figure has been cast in resin by Keith at Victory Miniatures and the sword and scabbard in white metal (pewter) by John Perry at Dartmoor Military Models. The sword detail isn't as crisp as in resin but it does polish up beautifully. The sword is to scale, but as cavalry swords are longer than infantry swords it looks a touch over scale. Undercoated figure as below with sword details:

A Very Merry Christmas and a Happy and Healthy New Year to one and all.
