Starting my first ever Bust,

Slightly out my comfort zone with this one. The 200mm French Line Lancer by CGS military figures. Minimal cleanup of the resin required, a temporary rod (brass on order) to locate to the wood base, made by my uncle on his lathe.

To better see the detail I have started off with a light wash of Tamiya matt Black. The colours will be Green/scarlet from the 1er Régiment des chevaux-légers. Polish Lancers incorporated into Napoleons grande army.
The Saber blade is white metal sanded then polished with solvo auto sol, seems to have come up a treat.

Hi.....its a cracking start on a cracking bust.....thoroughly enjoyed painting mine a few months ago.....well done...looking forward to your progress...

Thanks Mike Re the Saber, someone recommended polishing the white metal rather than painting so I used this paste, seems to work really well.

Great start on this wonderful bust and thanks for sharing the tip about Autosol.
