I have done a couple of these with swoppable helmets with assorted 'crestae transversales': Coolus, Imperial Italic D (Mainz) with shouting mouth and Imperial Italic H (Neidermormter, often known as the 'mouse' helmet from the mice on crown and cheek pieces) in plain metal with a red crest and black crown with a black crest:

Lovely work on all three Romans.. Are the shields hand painted or decals.. ? If hand painted you have done an excellent job..

Both shields are hand painted - very easy to go cross-eyed so doing! The scorpions on my Praetorian Decurion (https://www.planetfigure.com/threads/200mm-praetorian-cavalry-decurion.217876/) are decals/transfers which I painted over for a better finish. Amazon amongst others sells decal paper and it isn't difficult to produce images of different sizes depending on the shield size. I have used a similar technique for a knight as well.
