Well, As per my usual way of doing things, this guy has taken me a while to paint. I've been working on him since March. Sorry the yellows are a bit washed out. I need some better photo lighting.

I went with a somewhat darker and duller blue than I have seen on a lot of figs of the 146th. I don't think it was as bright a blue as many think. But, then again, what do I know.

Looks really, really good. I wouldn't know about the correct color, but the more faded color you used seems appropriate to me. Keep up the good work. I may need some some sculpting techniques someday.

    Great work man!

Love the faded blues! Don't know about the accuracy of it, but it sure looks very authentic.

Barry, I really like what you have done with the blues on the 146th New York. I have painted the kit and consider it one of my alltime favorites. Excellent job. Just wish I was able to go to Chicago to see it in person as well as your other work. Best of Everything, Terry Martin

Barry, excellent work. Your flesh really sets the tone for this figure. Regardless of what you know or not, the uniform looks great. Nice groundwork. Simple but effective. Well, now that it's done, what's next?

    Breat work,

Brad, Matt, Anders, Joe, Terry, Ernesto, Stephen - Thanks for the nice comments!

Jim - I'll have to see what I find in Chicago for my next project! I do have a couple of Historex figs that I really should finish.

Hello, I just came across this post while looking throught the V-benches. I have some photos of an original 146th NY Zouave uniform as well as a link to a uniform study of an original 146th NY Zouave uniform. If anyone is interested in these pics let me know.

Robert is this the study that is on C.J. Daley's site? I would not mind a reproduction of that uniform.~Gary

    Gary,

The link I have is the same uniform study you have mentioned. I also have some photos of a 146th NY Sergeant Majors uniform that was auctioned off a couple years ago. I will e-mail you the link and pics.

I have not seen the painter (Barry) on here in sometime. A shame as the guy is pretty talented and even sculpted a bust of a Continental Dragoon.~gary
