This is Shenandoah's venerable 54mm 146th New York Volunteer Infantry. This is a beautifully sculpted piece.

I am just getting truly comfortable with acrylics. This is my 3rd figure with Vallejos. Let me know what you think.

    Barry,

Looking great so far! Please tell us your color mix.

146th N.Y. had gorgeous uniforms. Love that blue w/ yellow trim.

Barry, Very nice. Shenandoah zouaves are really nice and well worth the price considering the price of some 54's nowadays. Seeing 146th NY for a thread title got my attention. Keep it up and please update it as you make progress.

Jason, 146th is one I'd like to eventually do to put with my other two G'burg 54's that are on my bench. The uniform is very nice and they were worn during the G'burg campaign.~Gary

Barry, it looks very good so far. I would like to know your flesh tone "mix". I too have mine but I'm always tweaking it a little. Which colors did you use?

Thanks for the kind words everyone.

I used Flat Flesh with a little Mahogany Brown and Cavalry Brown as a base.
Shadows have progressively more Mahogany Brown and Cavalry Brown. The deepest shadow is a mixture of Cad. Maroon and Black. Highlights have progressively more Flesh, the highest highlight being pure Flesh.

I agree about the Shenandoah Zouaves. Do not hesitate to pick one up. They are great. I think I paid $12 for mine - an incredible bargain!

The 146th uniform is my favorite of the zouaves. The coloful uniform definitely got my attention.

Check out this site I wish there was a site like this for every project!
